Fun at my first Evan Voytas show

I turned in my final term project last night, which means I can start going out and posting on here again. Yeaaaaah.

Over the last few months, on multiple occasions, Wendy and I have listened to her iPod on shuffle. Whenever one of Evan’s songs came on, I’d perk up and say “Ooooh, what’s this?” This happened consistently, so I’m a bonafide unbiased Evan Voytas fan; as in, I’m not a fan just because Wendy’s been playing in his band.

Last night was a great show. Just ask all the people who spontaneously started dancing and hooking up.  I didn’t take any pictures or video because I’ve messed with my camera settings so  much, I don’t even know what’s going on anymore. And I have a fear of failure so I didn’t bother trying with the assumption that my pictures would suck.

Good thing other people are more confident with their documenting skills.  I found a youtube video posted by alycamus, whom I don’t know. It appears from the video header that she contributes to rocknycliveandrecorded.com. Hey, alycamus and rocknycliveandrecorded.com, thank you for uploading your video in such a timely manner, and letting me drive traffic to your websites. You might get a mighty boost of four new visitors.

Here’s Evan, supported by Duncan, Wendy, Mike, and Aaron:

Later that night, Hayley dropped her brand new beanie on a less than pristine toilet seat at the Echo. Instead of putting it back on her head, she hung it on the stall wall donated it:

My metamorphosis: I’m on the fast-track…

silhouette of man running fast

Two weeks ago

I watched my first Lakers game, from start to finish. Actually, it was the first athletic event, where I didn’t know the players and didn’t involve dance or cheer, that I watched from start to finish.

One week ago

I didn’t discard the sports section of the paper upon contact. Instead, I went a few steps further: I read almost three articles in said paper section. I’ve never read a single line of the sports section, in my life.

Monday (two days ago)

I downloaded a one-hour sports podcast.

Tuesday (yesterday)

I invited Kylie over to watch THE GAME with us. I didn’t think this was a big deal but Wendy had a big laugh about it because it puts me at the level of “sports fan who sees sports as a social event.”

Mean about the dagger nose?

I hate to be mean, but I was awestruck when I opened my Lifetime network email newsletter, just now. What’s up with Wynonna Judd’s nose? Assuming this is just an unflattering shot, why are her people okay with this? You don’t need to do “magic eye” to see that her nose is pretty much a narrow dagger, pointing down. Perhaps, this is something good that I didn’t know about?

I swear, I’m not trying to be mean, but I was confused when I opened up my Lifetime newsletter just now. I don’t think it’s very nice.

Everybody loves Christina

Like, how could they not? I liked her right away, when I made that first phone call, several weeks before we were to move in together as freshman year triple-occupancy-in-a-double-occupancy dorm mates. I don’t recall receiving contact info for our third roommate, so for the first time, right now, I suddenly realize how weird it is that we got set up in a triple, but we only had exchange info for each other. I would love to know how the dorm room selection thing works. I figured it was pretty random, but there must have been either some algorithm or synchronicity that did a SPLENDID job hooking Christina and me together, because she and I are kindred spirits (rent Anne of Green Gables books or videos from the library if you don’t understand my terminology). Yet, Christina and I went through three “third” roommates within one year, which was truly abnormal. I’ve had this blog for so long, I feel as though I’ve told this story already, so I won’t tell it again. Please let me know if I haven’t told it, and I’ll be more than happy to share.

I’ve never seen a single episode of “Everybody Loves Raymond” although it must be awesome because it was number one comedy for forever. This is actually a majorly edited version of what I had written several minutes ago for this post. Basically, I edited out my rambling about how I never got into CBS primetime programming because of my older sister, Regina. To me, this is neither a good or bad thing; actually, now that I think about it, maybe it’s more of a good thing but I’m not really taking sides. But it explains why I’ve never seen “Everybody Loves Raymond” even though I know it’s mega successful enough such that I’d use it as a “cute” way to present this next little series of pictures of Christina.

The people at the LACMA invited her to set up some truly beautiful drawings and sculptures. Here she is next to the impressive sign with her name on it. Yes, you can still see it from now until March 11.

Afterward, we went to Panty Raid to view the TINY FOOD by Jessica Hlavac, which I first saw on Sex and the Single Ape. If you’re reading this, you most likely already know I go bonkers over miniatures. Absolutely bonkers. So needless to say, I loved Jessica’s work.

…hence the title of this evening’s post, everybody loves Christina. Me especially. Hi Christina! If you’re reading this, I’m going to feed your cats and scoop their poop now!

KoreAm video with Priscilla Ahn, Bobby, and Wendy

Bobby, aka Big Phony, interviewed Priscilla Ahn on December 15, 2009, for KoreAm. Wendy gets in there a bit, as well. It’s a cute and lovely video.

Who needs the gym?

It’s 9:30 a.m.. My head hurts as it has all week because I’ve been sick. I hope for a speedy recovery because Jason and Nia’s wedding is today and I prefer to have an awesome time, i.e. dance big.

I need to re-hem my dress because I hemmed it way too short last night (you can see my butt if I bend over at a 5-degree angle). I tend to do that because I’m 5’2″ so I can pull off supershort hemlines but I go overboard sometimes.

I’m comforting myself with a second bowl of Trader Joe’s Super Premium Ultra Chocolate ice cream.

I feel antsy to go to the gym or take a dance class but my aching body says “no.”

I check out my Google Reader and see I have unread items from the Single Ape. As usual, Steven majorly impresses me from all the wit and wisdom he dispenses.

Then I watch this video he posted, and my cardio got going from all the laughing. I feel much better about not going out for my exercise.

‘GLEE’ Exclusive

I got chills when I watched this.

‘GLEE’ Exclusive “Gold Digger” Clip and Tour… – The Channel’s MySpace Blog |

If you haven’t watched the pilot, I recommend it. No, I insist you watch it or else. I’m serious. After you watch it, watch the Gold Digger video. Or watch it in reverse order. Whatever. Just watch! I take this very personally because this show is really a TV show version of ME. I’ve seen it three times and I’ve cried every time.

Nice try YouTube party poopers

The Tokyo Broadcasting System had the Harry Potter videos removed from YouTube today. Oddly enough, they only took down the Emma and Daniel videos, but not Rupert. I wouldn’t stand for it because I’ve been watching them everyday since Monday, when Kylie sent me the links. Well, thanks to my super internet sleuthing skills, I found another source for the Daniel Radcliffe video. Unfortunately, this version of the video doesn’t include English subtitles but it’s still quite enjoyable. Watch it before TBS removes this! It’s truly hilarious. If you have any questions about what she’s saying, ask me. If I can motivate, I’ll post some translation for you.
